Overview

Ortho is built so your data stays on your Mac. The Ortho app processes your camera and motion sensors entirely on your device and sends nothing over the network. The only personal information this website collects is the email address you give us to join the private beta. This page explains both, plainly.

What the Ortho app does with your data

Everything the app senses is processed on your Mac and never leaves it:

• Camera. Each webcam frame is analyzed on-device to extract body-pose geometry, then discarded — it is never written to disk and never uploaded. Ortho keeps geometry, not a photo. No image is stored.
• AirPods. When you wear compatible AirPods, Ortho reads head-motion data only. There is no microphone access and no audio — Ortho does not request microphone permission, and the AirPods link is a local device-to-device transfer, not an upload.
• Mac motion sensors. On supported MacBooks, Ortho reads the device's tilt and hinge angle through a model-dependent sensor interface to understand how the laptop is positioned — not you. Availability varies by Mac model.

Only derived numbers — pose landmarks and your posture score — are saved, and only in local storage on your own machine. Ortho includes no analytics, no telemetry, and no crash reporting that leaves your device.

What this website collects

The only data this website collects is the email address you submit through the beta-signup form. We use it to send you beta access and related product updates. You provide it voluntarily through a single opt-in form; submitting the form is your consent to be emailed about the beta. We do not collect your name, payment details, or any other personal information on this site.

Third-party processors

Your beta-signup email is transmitted to and stored by Loops, the email service we use to manage the beta list, acting as our data processor. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

Cookies & tracking

This is a static marketing site. It does not set tracking or advertising cookies and does not run third-party analytics.

Your choices & rights

• Unsubscribe. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link — one click removes you from the beta list.
• Delete your email. Email hey@ortho.so and we'll remove your address from our records.
• App data. Because Ortho stores everything locally on your Mac, there is nothing on our servers to request from the app side. Uninstalling the app or clearing its local data removes that data.

Data retention

We keep your beta-signup email while the beta list is active, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. App data lives only on your device, for as long as you choose to keep it.

Children

Ortho is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. If we materially change how we use your beta-signup email, we'll let beta subscribers know.
